Administrative Services / Human Resources

The Administration Office houses administrative services, the fire prevention bureau and the executive staff offices.

Under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer, administrative staff is responsible for a host of activities, including development and management of the District’s annual budgets. The District’s fiscal year spans from July 1 to June 30; however, the budget development process begins as early as February with the Board of Directors setting a Preliminary Budget Schedule for preparation of the up-coming budget. The District’s annual budget hearing is typically conducted and adopted in June.

The District currently develops and manages budgets for its General Operating Fund, Prevention Fund, Capital Funds, and various Other Funds. Combined, these budgets exceeded $21 million in FY 2019-20.

Administrative staff is responsible for Accounting, Clerk of the Board, Human Resources, Information Technology, Purchasing and Risk Management.

Human Resources, a division of Administrative Services, supports a workforce of approximately 43 Safety employees and 10 non-safety employees.  The Department's primary responsibilities include benefits administration, labor and employee relations, recruitment and selection, and workers' compensation administration.
